mountains and plains on the Colorado Plateau..Wise, Fierce and proud of face, the
Ute messenger, garbed in long-fringed deerskin, mink and jackrabbit skins, has come
to a neighboring tribe, signaling with a bundle of arrows that he has messages to
share and carry to the next tribe. He sits in companionship with one of the
lean, powerful dogs that shared the tribe's fortunes. |
